Food safety trainings came into existence in the late 1950s, being firstly invented by a US based food processing company in association with NASA during the space program.
The target was to create quality in food products that would ensure safety and health of consumers by controlling and monitoring food born illnesses.
The training was proposed to Food and Drugs Authority and National Health Association in a Food scientific conference in 1970, after which the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point -HACCP and its 7/5 principles came into place to oversea organization, preparation, monitoring and presentation of food and food substances from the farm, to storage, to the kitchen, to the table of the final consumer so as to ensure cleanliness and observation of safety procedures.
