DAR ES SALAAM: August 8, 2026 - Absa Bank FC have been crowned champions of the Tanzania Bankers Association (TBA) Footie Tournament 2026 after edging Mwanga Hakika Bank FC 1–0 in a tightly contested final held on 7th August 2026 at the historic Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Grounds.
The much-anticipated final brought together two strong sides from Tanzania’s banking sector, with both teams showcasing skill, determination and tactical discipline.
From the opening whistle, Absa Bank FC and Mwanga Hakika Bank FC demonstrated why they had reached the tournament’s decisive stage. The match featured sharp passing, disciplined defending and relentless pressing, with neither side willing to give their opponents an easy opportunity.
However, Absa Bank FC eventually found the breakthrough, capitalising on a well-worked attacking move to score the decisive goal.
Despite determined efforts from Mwanga Hakika Bank FC to find an equaliser, Absa Bank FC held firm until the final whistle, securing a hard-fought 1–0 victory and lifting the coveted TBA Footie Tournament 2026 trophy.
